Frictional Games, the developers behind iconic horror titles like SOMA and the Amnesia series, revealed brand-new gameplay footage for their upcoming title ONTOS during the gamescom opening night livestream. The game is a sci-fi mystery thriller coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2027.
In ONTOS, players take on the role of Aditi, a young woman exploring the repurposed moon hotel Samsara, where she encounters strange Experiments and other disturbing scenarios. Each unique set piece will challenge the player’s morality and encourage thoughtful exploration to decide its potential outcome.
As the player, you must investigate the environment, look for hidden clues, and decide how to move ahead. Do you follow the instructions given, or do you seek an
alternative approach? Perhaps even sabotage the Experiment entirely for your own morbid curiosity of what happens next? There is no right or wrong solution in ONTOS – your own morality determines what Aditi’s path forward will be.
