Panache Digital Games has announced that 1666: Amsterdam will officially launch in Early Access on August 25 for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Alongside the Early Access announcement, the developer released a new gameplay feature video, offering an in-depth look at the core systems players will encounter while exploring Amsterdam as protagonists Noa and Aaron.
Hunt the Mysterious Originals
At the heart of 1666: Amsterdam is an investigation system that tasks players with hunting down mysterious beings known as the Originals throughout the city. Players will need to investigate their surroundings, uncover clues, and use the distinct abilities of both protagonists to reveal hidden truths and ultimately restore balance to the world.
The game centers on Noa and Aaron, with each character bringing different abilities and gameplay mechanics to the adventure. Noa possesses a range of mystical abilities that can be used throughout the investigation, while Aaron introduces a distinctive form of feline gameplay.
Players will need to combine the strengths of both characters to explore Amsterdam and solve the mysteries surrounding the Originals.
Combat, Exploration and a Dynamic Day-Night Cycle
The newly released gameplay footage also provides a closer look at the game’s combat system, alongside its day and night cycle, which changes the atmosphere of Amsterdam throughout the journey.
Together with investigation, exploration, mystical abilities, and character-specific mechanics, these systems form the foundation of the experience players will be able to explore when Early Access begins.
