League of Legends: K/DA Akali Receives A Neon Upgrade!

This article was written while listening to Pop/Stars.

K/DA Akali, arguably the most popular of the four from the popular fictional K-Pop group, K/DA have garnered a lot of fans in an amazingly short amount of time. If you haven’t heard of this fictional group from Riot Games, we posted an article that includes their music video released a few days ago. Check it out!

Their debut music video “Pop/Stars” quickly went viral, making it to No. 1 on Apple’s K-Pop chart, No. 4 in the US and at this point of writing, the music video on Youtube hit 31 million views in a mere 5 days.

After the fans’ amazing response to the music video and their request for a neon Akali skin or a prestige Akali skin, Riot decided to thank the fans by doing just that. But they did it one step better. Instead of releasing a new skin or chroma or a prestige skin, they have decided to incorporate the neon look into the K/DA skin for Akali. Free of charge!

Yes, you heard that right. This neon look will be a free upgrade to the current skin without a price bump to the skin. You will be able to see the new neon look in action when Akali activates her shroud and goes into it.

With this look currently in PBE testing, we can expect it to be released around patch 8.23 which is really not very far away. Are you excited to see the updated skin in action?  All of us here can hardly wait for the skin update. Including those that don’t play Akali!

Time to get the K/DA Akali skin after all?
Let us know in the comments if you’ve already bought it!
