GSC Cinemas will be bringing the second anime film in the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime franchise to Malaysia this May 14th. The movie, titled That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea, opened in Japan on February 27th and ranked 3rd in its opening weekend.
The film follows Rimuru and friends as they visit Celestial Emperor Hermesia’s resort island after the Jura-Tempest Federations opening ceremony. During their vacation, they encounter a mysterious woman named Yura, leading to a new incident by the azure sea.
GSC Cinemas is also hosting a fan screening on May 9th at LaLaport BBCC. Every movie ticket purchased comes with a set of limited edition polaroid cards and an A3 poster featuring artwork from the movie. Tickets are RM50 for this special screening.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea is the second movie in the franchise. The anime television series originally premiered in October 2018, and is currently airing its fourth season with a total run of five cours (a quarter of a year). 8-Bit returned to animate the fourth season as well as the second movie.
The second film is being distributed in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines by Muse Asia.
