To celebrate World Pokémon Day on February 27, Nintendo hosted a Pokémon Presents livestream to showcase what the franchise has in store for its 30th anniversary. In case you missed it, here’s five of the biggest announcements that were revealed:
1. Pokémon Gen 10 announced!

Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves will be releasing in 2027 for the Nintendo Switch 2, making it the first mainline title for the series since 2022. We will be able to expect a beautiful open world of islands and vast ocean to explore in this upcoming title, and we can’t wait for it to come sooner!

2. Pokémon 30th Anniversary TCG set

To further celebrate 30 years of Pokémon, Trainers can look forward to an exciting new Pokémon TCG expansion in 2026 — the first-ever to debut with a simultaneously coordinated global launch in participating markets, followed by additional product releases throughout the year. I wonder if this is the first of many simultaneous global releases for TCG-related products.
3. Pokémon Champions gets a release date

Trainers can start battling it out this April in Pokémon Champions on Nintendo Switch — and later this year on mobile devices. This will surely be a title to look forward to for all trainers who are big fans of Pokémon battles. Not to mention, it will also be available for mobile devices, making it accessible to just about everyone!

4. Pokémon Red & Pokémon Blue Game Music Collection: Game Boy Jukebox

The Pokémon Red & Pokémon Blue Game Music Collection: Game Boy Jukebox is a little gadget that lets you enjoy all of the classic music from Pokémon Red & Pokémon Blue. It is also modeled after the original Game Boy system from Nintendo, giving it even more nostalgia points,
5. New Gameplay Details Unveiled for Pokémon Pokopia

On March 5, 2026, the Pokémon Pokopia game will launch on Nintendo Switch 2, inviting Trainers to embark on a cozy new adventure and build a world for everyone to live in. Pokémon Pokopia will support multiplayer, allowing Trainers to play with up to three other players.
Players can visit one another’s towns, invite friends to their own, and even bring along one Pokémon from their town to explore together. This will surely scratch the itch of Pokémon fans who are into the ‘cozy’ game genre.

6. Mega Garchomp Z Joins Pokémon Legends: Z-A

Mega Garchomp Z has been added to Pokémon Legends: Z-A, available through its Mega Dimension paid DLC. Trainers can now claim a new Mystery Gift that lets them enter a special hyperspace distortion, where they must battle and defeat a Mega Garchomp Z to obtain a Garchompite Z stone.
7. Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen Switch release
In case you missed the initial announcement, Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen, the 2004 remakes of Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green, have been added to the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, allowing a whole new generation to experience these classic titles.
