Our Top 10 Indie Games From The ID@Xbox Digital Showcase

Back for its second edition, the IGN x ID@Xbox Digital Showcase had plenty of exciting indie game announcements in store for us. From new details on upcoming games like Dungeons of Hinterberg, to exciting world premieres like Centum, here’s the top 10 announcements you just can’t miss — in no particular order!

1. Astor: Blade of the Monolith (May 30)

Astor: Blade of the Monolith is a fast-paced action-RPG where you play as Astor, a young warrior determined to unveil the secrets behind his creators’ unforeseen demise. Learn new attacks, abilities and combos, unlock magical powers, and collect legendary weapons as you find your way towards the Monolith this May 30th.

2. 33 Immortals Closed Beta (May 24)

The closed beta for 33 Immortals is arriving this May 24th — so it’s time to find 32 friends to get this game with you! The newest trailer gives us a closer look at how players can help each other throughout the game, as well as the formidable Lucifer boss and gameplay tips on how to defeat this boss.

3. Centum (Summer 2024)

Serenity Forge gave us a first unsettling look at Centum during the showcase. This unreliable narrative-driven adventure game tricks you into thinking you’re playing a game you’re not. Expect surrealist storytelling, surprising interactions, and a mind-bending, emotionally fraught journey that forces you to confront a different side to your familiar reality.

4. Commandos: Origins Closed Beta (Summer 2024)

A reboot of the iconic ‘Commandos’ franchise, revisit the frontlines of WW2 and experience the story of how the elite unit from the original games was formed. From the blazing deserts of Africa to frozen Scandinavian fjords, meet the six members of your squad and use their unique skills to overcome the most demanding of missions.

5. Lost Records: Bloom & Rage (Late 2024)

This one is for the Life Is Strange fans. Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is a narrative adventure game set in the fictional town of Velvet Cove in the summer of 1995. Four high school friends — Swann, Nora, Autumn, and Kat — spend the summer together hanging out, playing music, and becoming best friends until something changes the trajectory of all of their lives.

6. Keylocker (Summer 2024)

Another one from Serenity Forge, Keylocker is a bizarre and colorful turn-based rhythm JRPG. Play as the singer and songwriter, BOBO, and take down a despotic regime that has outlawed all sound. The game is inspired by the charm and physical comedy of the Mario & Luigi RPG series, with the mechanics and storytelling depth of Chrono Trigger.

7. Times & Galaxy (June 2024)

Gamified journalism, whodathunk? Times & Galaxy is a space journalism adventure about space aliens and the richness of the stories that make up their everyday lives. Set in a solar system full of strange beings, from space lizards to goo people, you will step into the shoes of a shiny new Robo intern for the system’s most trusted holopaper, the Times & Galaxy.

8. Dungeons of Hinterberg (18 July 2024)

The new trailer for Dungeons of Hinterberg teases gameplay for the Marsh Puzzle section. Arriving on July 18th, the game is an action RPG set around the village of Hinterberg, a new tourist hotspot in the idyllic Austrian Alps. After the sudden appearance of magic around the village, adventurers travel from around the world for a Slaycation.

9. Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter (TBA)

Sequel to the critically acclaimed action-RPG, Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter has you playing as Arlo, heir to the Warden of the Wastes. Journey through the vast, snow-ravaged lands of the North in an epic quest to overcome the Dark Wings once and for all.

10. Sulfur (TBA)

For our first-person shooter fans, Sulfur is a modern old-school action-adventure game that combines shooter mechanics with role-playing and roguelite elements. Outsmart enemies, find treasure, harness powers, and modify and enchant weapons. Delve deeper, find answers, make it end.
