- The feuding Goblin generals Bentnoze & Wartface have a playing strength of 300, making them the perfect opponents for anyone new to playing chess.
- Hailing from Tutorial Island, Vannaka the Slayer Master has a playing strength of 650, suitable for beginners to play against.
- Bob the Cat is a mysterious feline with a playing strength of 1350, great for those with average experience playing chess.
- Sliske will test your skills at a playing strength of 1800, recommended for the above-average chess player.
- Finally, the Wise Old Man is a master of the game with a formidable playing strength of 3150 – a challenge not for the faint of heart.
