The Pokémon Company group recently announced that Pokémon TCG Pocket has been downloaded over 150 million times since its worldwide launch on October 30, 2024. To mark this incredible milestone, the company is rolling out a series of exciting new features and content, including the introduction of fan-favorite Mega Evolved Pokémon.
Mega Rising Expansion
The celebration kicks off on October 30, 2025, with the launch of the brand-new Mega Rising expansion. This series debut brings powerful Mega Evolution Pokémon ex to the app for the very first time. Trainers will be able to hunt for these formidable cards by opening three new booster packs: Mega Rising: Mega Gyarados, Mega Rising: Mega Blaziken, and Mega Rising: Mega Altaria.
New Ways to Trade
Alongside the new expansion, Pokémon TCG Pocket is significantly enhancing the social and trading aspects of the game:
- Improved Wonder Pick: The Wonder Pick feature is getting an upgrade to make the search for rare cards simpler. Unobtained cards from the latest expansion will now appear more often, and a counter will display how many of each card a player already owns.
- New Share Feature: Releasing on October 30, a new share feature will allow players to gift ♦–♦♦♦♦ rarity cards to their friends. Trainers can share one card per friend per day and receive one card per day, making it easier than ever to help friends complete their collections.
- Expanded Trading Options: Soon, the range of cards eligible for trading will grow! In addition to existing trading options, players will now be able to trade ★★ and Shiny 1–Shiny 2 rarity cards from the latest expansions, giving collectors more flexibility.
Anniversary Gifts and Events
Trainers can also look forward to a full slate of in-app events running well into December to celebrate the milestone:
- First Anniversary Celebration Campaign: Simply logging in to the app on or after October 30, 2025, will reward players with a gift: one complimentary booster pack each for Mega Rising: Mega Gyarados, Mega Rising: Mega Blaziken, and Mega Rising: Mega Altaria.
- Special Missions: Players can complete First Anniversary Celebration Special Missions to earn a commemorative first-anniversary emblem and other special rewards.
- Promo Card Reissues: Trainers who missed out on earlier cards will have two chances to complete their sets with the PROMO Reissue Drop Event 2025 and the PROMO Reissue Wonder Pick Event, bringing back previously released promo packs and cards.
