Gachiakuta returns for a second cour this October 12, featuring a new theme song from Hololive VTuber Mori Calliope. A preview of the theme song, titled “LET’S JUST CRASH”, can be heard in a new trailer for the series.
The official Gachiakuta account also shared a statement from the VTuber, who wrote: “As a longtime fan of the manga I can’t wait to see one of my favourite arcs animated this season… What kind of OST can we expect from some of the hottest battles in the series thus far? And in BONES FILM’s glorious animation style, we’re gonna be on the edge of our seats.”
J-Rock band karanoah will perform the ending theme, titled “BAN”. Bassist Tatsuki wrote: “I actually read through the manga to work on this song, and I think we succeeded in creating what could be called our masterpiece: the sound of karanoah matched perfectly with the world of Gachiakuta. I hope this song reaches loads of people alongside Gachiakuta.”
Gachiakuta is an adaptation of a manga series by mangaka Kei Urana and graffiti designer Hideyoshi Andou, which follows Rudo, an orphaned boy born in a slum inhabited by the descendants of criminals. The manga series began serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine in February 2022, and won the Global Special Award in the Comics Category at the Next Manga Awards 2022.
