AniManGaki 2025 Welcomes Legendary Voice Actress Aya Hirano As Special Guest

AniManGaki 2025, one of Malaysia’s biggest animation, comics, and gaming conventions, makes its return this 22 to 24 August. The event will feature the legendary Japanese voice actress and singer Aya Hirano [平野綾] as a Special Guest.

Aya got her start in the industry as a child actor, but earned her big break in 2006 with her iconic role as Haruhi Suzumiya in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. She also performed the anime’s iconic theme song, Bōken Desho Desho, which helped to launch her solo music career. She would go on to voice a wide range of beloved characters, including Izumi Konata from Lucky Star and Lucy Heartfilia from Fairy Tail.

Her talent extends into video games, where she has contributed to well-known franchises such as Final Fantasy, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and Catherine. In addition to voice acting, Aya has built a strong presence in film, television, and stage productions across Japan. Her most recent roles include playing Makima in the stage adaptation of Chainsaw Man, and voicing Marie Antoinette in the 2025 animated film adaptation of Rose of Versailles.

In 2024, Aya made a highly anticipated return to music with her first new single in 11 years and embarked on a national tour, reconnecting with fans old and new. Malaysian fans will be able to catch her live performance and exclusive meet-and-greet at AniManGaki 2025, with more details set to be released soon.

AniManGaki 2025 will take place at The Mines International Exhibition & Convention Centre (MIECC), Malaysia, from 22 – 24 August, 2025. Tickets are available now at https://www.animangaki.com/store/.
