Ranma ½ (2024) just had its first Season 2 trailer revealed on Sunday, 22.6.2025, 7 months after it was announced that the remake of the beloved series was getting another season. The upcoming season of the anime will premiere on October 2025.
A new adaptation of Takahashi Rumiko’s classic romance-comedy manga, the series follows Ranma, a young martial artist who was cursed when he fell into a mysterious spring whilst training in China with his father. Now, when he touches cold water, he transforms into a girl, and returns to being a boy when he touches hot water. He also discovers that he has been engaged to Tendo Akane, the daughter of his father’s friend, without his knowledge or say. However, this revelation is but only the beginning as his life gets more interesting.
In the trailer, fans of the series are given a glimpse at the reveal of new faces and potential rivals in martial arts and romance to Ranma. A new character, Mousse, is similarly cursed to transform into an animal when he touches cold water. Like in the manga and the 1989 series, Mousse contends with Ranma for the love and affection of Shampoo, another girl vying for Ranma’s attention.
Another contender for Ranma’s love is his childhood friend, Kuonji Ukyo, who’ll be up against both Shampoo and Akane. The trailer also shows returning characters like Hibiki Ryoga, another of Ranma’s romantic rivals.
