Sony’s latest State of Play was packed with exciting announcements, from brand-new reveals to long-awaited release date confirmations and fresh looks at upcoming PlayStation titles.

Astro Bot
Team Asobi’s beloved platformer returns with new content this summer. Astro Bot will receive five new Vicious Void Galaxy levels, promising skill-testing challenges and the debut of fresh Special Bots.
A new version of the Astro Bot-themed DualSense wireless controller will also launch later this year, sporting a cheerful smiley design.
Baby Steps
The quirky walking simulator Baby Steps now has a release date: September 8. A new trailer showed off our onesie-clad protagonist Nate, as he deals with the game’s unique traversal mechanics.
Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement
The next chapter in the Bloodstained series introduces two playable heroes, Leo and Alex, as they explore the sprawling Ethereal Castle. Players can seamlessly switch between the characters to harness their unique abilities. This new 2.5D side-scrolling RPG arrives on PS5 next year.
Cairn
The survival-climbing game Cairn challenges players to scale treacherous peaks with precision and planning. The game launches on PS5 this November 5, but fans can now try out a new playable demo on the PlayStation Store.
Digimon Story: Time Stranger
Digimon fans got a deeper look at Time Stranger, which launches October 3. The new trailer introduced the game’s story details, cast, and expanded Digimon customization systems.
Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots
The classic golf series returns on PS5 the September 5. Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots includes a surprise appearance by Pac-Man, who will be available as a bonus character for pre-order customers.
Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles
A remastered edition of the 1997 classic, Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles comes to PS5 and PS4 on September 30. The updated version features fully voiced dialogue, enhanced visuals, an improved UI, and new accessibility options, including a “Squire” difficulty mode.
Ghost of Yōtei
A standalone State of Play livestream focused on Ghost of Yōtei is set to air this July. Expect an in-depth look at the game’s evolved mechanics, exploration systems, and more.
Hirogami
Launching September 3, Hirogami is a visually striking 3D platformer inspired by the art of origami. You play as Hiro, a being who can fold himself into different animal shapes to explore, fight, and solve puzzles.
007 First Light
IO Interactive introduced 007 First Light, a new origin story for James Bond. The third-person action-adventure title will explore the agent’s rise to MI6 fame when it launches on PS5 next year.
Lumines Arise
The iconic puzzle franchise returns as a PS VR2 game in Lumines Arise. It will feature 30 mesmerizing levels, a new “Burst” mechanic, and environments ranging from lush jungles to deep space.
MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls
Arc System Works is teaming up with Marvel and PlayStation Studios for MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, a brand-new tag team fighting game. With intuitive controls and rich visuals, the game aims to appeal to both casual players and hardcore competitors. We’ve got more details here.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater
Konami showcased more of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, including intense encounters with The Cobra Unit. The beloved Snake vs Monkey minigame is also set to make a return. The game launches August 28 on PS5.
Mortal Kombat Kollection
The Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection bundles early titles from the franchise with interactive documentaries on the franchise’s development. Developed by Digital Eclipse, it arrives later this year for PS4 and PS5.
Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound
Releasing July 31, Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound will bring side-scrolling action to PS5 and PS4. Developed by The Game Kitchen, this installment blends fast-paced gameplay with the punishing challenges the series is known for.
Nioh 3
Nioh 3 was officially revealed for PS5. The game will feature two combat styles, Samurai and Ninja, which players can switch between instantly. A limited-time demo is available now on the PlayStation Store.
PlayStation Plus Updates
Several classic titles are coming to PlayStation Plus. Highlights include Deus Ex (PS2 version) on June 17, Twisted Metal 3 & 4 on July 15, and the original Resident Evil 2 and 3: Nemesis later this summer. Sword of the Sea will also join the Game Catalog on August 19.
Pragmata
Capcom unveiled its newest IP, Pragmata, a sci-fi adventure releasing in 2026. It features dual-protagonist mechanics, requiring players to control both main characters Hugh and Diana, as they navigate through a dangerous world.
Project Defiant
PlayStation revealed Project Defiant, its first wireless fight stick, compatible with PS5 and PC via PlayStation Link or wired connection. The custom controller is set to launch next year.
Romeo is a Dead Man
Grasshopper Manufacture unveiled Romeo is a Dead Man, an over-the-top action title about the exploits of one Romeo Stargazer. Mixing guns, swords, and time-bending powers, the game launches on PS5 in 2025.
Sea of Remnants
Sea of Remnants is a pirate-themed action RPG set in a world of seafaring puppetfolk. Build your crew, upgrade your ship, and influence the evolution of Orbtopia, a city that changes with your decisions.
Silent Hill f
Launching September 25, Silent Hill f is a standalone story about a young girl named Shimizu Hinako. The trailer teases a haunting journey through a fog-covered town, and the psychological horror that lies within.
Sword of the Sea
From Giant Squid, Sword of the Sea blends surfing mechanics with atmospheric exploration. It launches on PS5 August 19 as part of the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog.
Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow
The classic stealth series is reimagined for PS VR2. Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow launches later this year, offering immersive mechanics, including light manipulation and physical stealth, as players navigate The City as master thief Magpie.
Tides of Tomorrow
From the creators of Road 96, Tides of Tomorrow is an asynchronous multiplayer adventure set in a post-apocalyptic oceanic world. Launching February 24, 2026, the game will blend your story choices with the echoes of other players’ past decisions.
