The Games for Change festival will be hosting its first local chapter and event in Asia this summer, bringing its internationally acclaimed movement to the city of Hong Kong under the theme “Playing at the New Frontiers”.
The Games for Change Hong Kong Festival, presented by Press Start Studios and supported by the University of Hong Kong (HKU), will take place at HKU on June 7 and 8. This landmark event will bring together global and regional leaders, educators, developers, creatives, and changemakers for two days of inspiration and collaboration on the power of play for real world impact.
Festival highlights include mainstage keynotes and panels featuring thought leaders shaping the future of games and social innovation, as well as The Arcade, a curated showcase of impactful games (including tabletop games, digital games, and immersive media) that demonstrate how play can be a powerful force for good.

“We are proud to partner with Press Start Studios in launching Asia’s first local chapter of the Games for Change Festival. This festival reflects HKU’s commitment to bringing pioneering and inspiring movements in education and social impact to Hong Kong,” shared Dr. Jack Tsao, Associate Director, Common Core, The University of Hong Kong.
Vince Siu, Founder of Press Start Studios, also commented: “Games for Change places the potential of play — its ability to inspire learning, empathy, and action — front and centre. Press Start Studios is thrilled to be partnering with the University of Hong Kong to propel the future of games in Hong Kong and Asia.”
