The anime adaptation of Kōji Miura’s popular manga, Blue Box (Ao no Hako), has been renewed for a second season, as announced by the official X/Twitter account for the series. The news arrives following the conclusion of the first season, which successfully ran for 25 episodes.
The announcement was accompanied by the release of a promotional video and visual, featuring scenes of the lead characters Taiki Inomata and Chinatsu Kano.
Blue Box tells the story of Taiki Inomata, a badminton player, and his burgeoning relationship with Chinatsu Kano, a basketball player, at Eimei Junior and Senior High. The manga originally debuted as a one-shot in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2020, before beginning its serialization in April 2021, and has since earned over 6.2 million copies in circulation.
The first season featured Shōya Chiba as Taiki Inomata, Reina Ueda as Chinatsu Kano, and Akari Kitō as Hina Chono, among others. Animation was handled by Telecom Animation Film
with planning and production from UNLIMITED PRODUCE by TMS.
