The largest indie game section in Taiwan is here! Taipei Game Show 2025 has revealed the floor plan for its Indie House section. This year, 140 indie game publishers and developers from 19 countries are participating, breaking previous records and cementing its status as Taiwan’s premier indie game showcase.
Among them are globally renowned publishers presenting their flagship titles, including Japan’s SHUEISHA GAMES with their pixel-art adventure game Urban Myth Dissolution Center and Australia’s Ukiyo Studios featuring Buckshot Roulette from CRITICAL REFLEX, which has sold over 4 million copies worldwide.
A Global Indie Game Showcase: 60% Overseas Exhibitors, Local Studios Bringing Signature Titles
According to VG Insights, the indie game market has matured significantly in recent years. More indie studios are now launching follow-up titles. The Indie House section features over 60% of its 140 participating teams from overseas. These developers travel across the globe to leverage Taiwan as a gateway into the Chinese-speaking market.
Highlights include the UK’s Firefly Studios with their highly acclaimed classic title Stronghold Crusader: Definitive Edition, Hong Kong’s Eastasiasoft Limited showcasing their newly released dungeon RPG Tokyo Clanpool, and Spain’s Omaet Games combining rhythm gameplay with narrative adventure in The Midnight Barber. A total of 76 overseas exhibitors will participate, eager to connect with local gamers and developers.
Taiwanese exhibitors, as the hosts, are equally enthusiastic. Psychoflow Studio will present Bionic Bay, an award-winning title at home and abroad; SIGONO will unveil their latest installment, OPUS: Prism Peak, known for its tear-jerking storytelling; LuLuDu Tech Co. Ltd. introduces a horror game collaboration with a film franchise, THE TAG-ALONG OBSESSION; Dango Games’ Boba Tea Shop Simulator invites gamers to experience Taiwan’s bubble tea culture, and Red Candle Games’ Nine Sols, a Tao-punk action game, recently launched on console platforms.
The organizers also announced continued collaboration with Singapore’s “Indie Wavemakers” to host tailor-made interviews for developers, offering both local and international creators more opportunities to showcase their works. Additionally, the Indie Game Award 2025 Winner Pavilion will allow attendees to experience the top indie games selected by a professional jury.
