Korean photo studio brand Photoism is collaborating with the webtoon The Ki Sisters for a series of limited-time photo frames based on the series’ mega-viral “Queen Never Cry” meme. The promotion will run from now until 30 April.

The Ki Sisters is an ongoing webtoon created by Korean artist bumbae, which tells the story of four sisters, Jang-nyeo, Sal-gyo, Jae-rim, and Jenny, who inadvertently strike fear into the hearts of everyone around them due to their menacing appearance. Jenny, the youngest of the sisters, is eager to find love – with mishaps ensuing as her only experience with romance comes from reading romance novels.

The webtoon became a viral meme in November 2024 when readers circulated a panel from Chapter 34, which showed side character Queen Serina whispering “Queen never cry” into her newborn daughter Queen Laura’s ear.

Other panels from the series have also gone viral (including a particularly infamous page featuring American rapper Cardi B) due to the characters’ exaggerated expressions and humour.

The Ki Sisters collaboration is so far confirmed to be available at Photoism outlets in Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Visitors can shoot their own photos and videos using a remote control, all in the comfort of a private booth.
