Warframe 1999 Is A Great Expansion With A Twist – Game Review

Guess what: Warframe 1999 is out now!

This article will be a non-spoiler review of Warframe 1999, the latest expansion from Warframe. The review written here is for returning players or even new players, with the goal of introducing you, the reader, to pick it up. Be warned though that if you haven’t tried Warframe before, you will need to have 600+ spare hours ready to dive right in!

If you aren’t familiar with Warframe, let me give you a short description of what the game is: “a space ninja doing business.” In other words, you play as a space ninja, farming and trading resources for the in-game currency, Platinum. The game has had many major updates in the past, such as the release of open-world features and Railjack missions, but none have been as big as this current update.

Warframe 1999 acts as a prequel to the base game of Warframe, with the storyline following Arthur Nightingale, who seems to be the human prototype of the warframe Excalibur, as he uncovers various mysteries. The expansion also has human models for the other OG warframes, including Mag (Aoi), Volt (Amir), Trinity (Leticia), Nyx (Eleanor), and a new warframe that gives wallhacks, Cyte-09 (Quincy).

The gameplay for Warframe 1999 is also similar to the base game, being a third-person shooter with new characters, enemies, weapons, and vehicles added. Having tried the gameplay for Warframe 1999, I have to say that the gameplay looks stunning and runs smoothly too. There might be a few bugs since it just launched, but overall I really give it a solid 8/10.

However, there is one new feature that I love, which is a romance system that was added recently. By increasing your chemistry and relationship ranks with the characters, you will have the option to date any one of the members. The best part is, you’ll even be able to get a New Year’s kiss. I AM COMING, NYX!

For new players, unfortunately, in order to play Warframe 1999, you have to go through all of the main quests, from the beginning to the end. So if you are going to download Warframe and hope to start Warframe 1999 straight away, I have some bad news for you. Don’t worry; at least you will have a Warframe 1999 demo in your orbiter once you start the game.

At the end of the day, I really love what Warframe is and its supportive community. If you want to try out Warframe on your mobile device, you can check out my previous review for the mobile port.
