In this week’s most unlikely collaborations, Malaysian low-cost airline AirAsia is partnering with Atlus to create a Persona 5 Royal inspired aircraft this October.
The news was announced on the Atlus SEA Facebook page, together with a concept visual featuring designs of the Persona 5 protagonist and Morgana from the game. At the same time, AirAsia also announced their Sonic The Hedgehog inspired aircraft.
Persona 5 Royal is the enhanced version of the Persona 5 base game, which follows a high school student known by the codename Joker who transfers to a new school after he is falsely accused of assault and put on probation.
Over the course of a school year, he and other students awaken to a special power, becoming a group of secret vigilantes known as the Phantom Thieves of Hearts. They explore the Metaverse, a supernatural realm born from humanity’s subconscious desires, to steal malevolent intent from the hearts of adults and change their hearts.
Although little is known about the extent of the collaboration, including the interior of the plane, we’ll definitely be watching the Atlus SEA Facebook page for more updates leading up to its launch this October 2024.
