The Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action series on Netflix has officially been renewed for two more seasons. Since the show’s debut on February 22, the series has reigned as the top English TV show with 41.1M views within the first eleven days despite mixed reviews from fans. It has also ranked no. 1 in 76 countries and in the top 10 in 92 countries.
Season 1 covered the events of Book One: Water which is the first season of the animated series. Although the episode count hasn’t been confirmed, showrunner Albert Kim has stated that Season 2 and 3 will give them enough time to adapt the entirety of the Nickelodeon animated series.
The cast of the live-action show released a fun video announcing Season 2 and 3, in which Fire Lord Ozai actor Daniel Dae Kim trolls the cast before revealing the news.
Avatar fans also have the new animated projects to look forward to in the near future. Original creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino are currently producing a sequel animated movie focused on Aang and the gang as adults, among other new series and movies in the Avatar universe.
