Gaming, Tech & Cosplay Enthusiasts Gather For NoizuCon 2023

One of the most anticipated gaming conventions of the year, NoizuCon 2023, took place at Kaula Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) from 29th September to 1st October. Many game, tech and cosplay enthusiasts gathered at the event to enjoy a variety of event offerings, from activities to merchandise; to performances and meet and greets. There was undoubtedly something for everyone to experience!

Here are some highlights that stood out to us:

International Guests

No event goes without featuring a unique line-up of guests! This time, Noizu had the honour to invite not one, but a few big names to the event. This included Aza Miyuko and Yuji Koi from the Korean and Vietnamese cosplay scene respectively, as well as Xiinya, a famous streamer and e-sports talent all the way from Japan. Fans got the chance to meet their idols face-to-face, and even got to score some merchandise as well.

Stage Activities

Throughout NoizuCon, attendees were kept entertained by an assortment of stage activities. This included live gameshows, showcases, panels, competitions and performances.

NoizuCon kept the party going with a singing competition in collaboration with RFBxProject, known as Voices. All the contestants’ passion and love for singing truly shone through to their vocals, making it a great opportunity for the audience to discover upcoming talents from within the community.

World Cosplay Summit (WCS) Malaysia this year was also held at NoizuCon itself. With a trip to Japan and the chance to represent Malaysia on the global stage on the line, it’s no surprise that many anime, game and comic fans alike came together to show their support for their favourite cosplayers. The duo Rikka Blurhound and Tea Kyandy came out victorious, and will be representing Malaysia in WCS 2024!

Off-Stage Activities

Aside from all the stage activities, we cannot forget about the different booths. From cosplayers to table top games; to doujin artist booths and game showcases, and not to mention the many featured VTubers! Attendees had so much to explore within the vicinity of the event.

One that caught our attention was the VTuber showcase booth by Team Comfy VT and Medibeats Productions, where one could interact with a few VTubers on the spot via a display screen. It was truly a unique experience, and we’re hoping to see more integrations like this in future events!

Giveaway

Amidst the jam-packed event itinerary, NoizuCon also had a massive giveaway for attendees to participate in. Those who have visited the convention last year would know of the unique giveaway mechanic that Noizu has come up with, which involves scanning as many QR codes from different vendors and attendees as you can.

With a prize pool worth more than RM250,000 up for grabs, attendees were swarming through the venue to accumulate as many points as possible just for a chance to win! Through this method, event attendees were rewarded for visiting and interacting with the variety of booths in the area.

NoizuCon 2023 was nothing short of fun for those who visited! Don’t forget to give Noizu a follow to stay updated on their next event.
