The popular Pizza Hut x Genshin Impact collaboration will be taking place in Malaysia from 5th July to 15th August 2023!
This promotion was originally announced in China and Japan earlier this year featuring exclusive pizza box designs, in-game rewards, and exclusive merchandise featuring the game characters Yelan, Ningguang and Xiangling — and is now making its way to Pizza Hut’s nationwide.
The campaign takes place over three rounds where fans can collect merchandise featuring each character as follows:
- 5 – 18 July featuring Ningguang
- 19 July – 1 August featuring Yelan
- 2 – 15 August featuring Xiangling
The meal sets feature the newly launched Pizza Hut Melts, a stuffed foldover which is cheesy on the inside and crunchy on the outside, in four flavours. These sets will be available for both in-person and delivery purchases.
Standard Sets start from RM27.90 and come with a sheet of stickers, a photocard, and in-game rewards. The Premium Sets are priced higher from RM47.90 and include the Standard promos and an additional notebook.
In conjunction with this event, Pizza Hut Malaysia has set up three themed outlets in West Malaysia (unfortunately for our Sabahan and Sarawakian friends) where ticketed fan events will be held during the following dates:
- 8 July: Sunway Pyramid, Selangor
- 15 July: Queensbay Mall, Penang
- 22 July: Mid Valley Southkey, Johor Bahru
Each RM60 ticket grants 1x Premium Set, 1x Sparkling Berry Fizz, and 1x collaboration postcard, plus chances to participate in games to earn more rewards and a meet-and-greet with cosplayers during the day. Slots are limited and reservations must be made through the WhatsApp link on Pizza Hut Malaysia’s Facebook page .
This marks the next of many successful HoYoverse celebrations, including HoYoverse 2022 at La Juiceria Superfoods last September and Genshin Impact x Tealive in April before that.
Aside from that, HoYoverse recently held the Honkai: Star Rail Global Tour to celebrate Genshin Impact’s sister game’s launch at Sunway Velocity, where the talented Malaysian voice actor, Chan Su Ling who voices Bailu in HSR, graced fans with her amazing vocal performance!
Although we don’t expect this event’s reception to reach insanity the likes of the 2021 Genshin x KFC event in China, where fan reception was so overwhelming that store decorations were stolen and several stores had to be shuttered, Genshin Impact and HoYoverse events are all the rage in Malaysia and are almost always fully booked within days of the announcement.
Nevertheless, if you can’t make it for this event, HoYofest is scheduled to return later this year. Details are to be announced but be prepared to celebrate your favourite HoYoverse franchises as Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero make their debuts in HoYofest 2023!
