The Kaiju No. 8 anime series will conclude with Kaiju No. 8: The Final Mission, a theatrical film set to air in 2027. A new teaser visual and trailer were released along with the film’s announcement.
Production I.G. will continue to provide animation production for the film, with Shigeyuki Miya reprising his role as director. Kaiju No. 8: The Final Mission will serve as the anime’s series finale, bringing the story to a close after nearly three years on the air. The first season of the anime debuted in 2024, followed by a second in 2025.
Based on a manga of the same name by Naoya Matsumoto, Kaiju No. 8 follows Kafka Hibino, who after ingesting a parasitic creature, gains the ability to turn into a kaiju. He must now navigate using his power while trying to become part of an organization that eliminates kaiju, all to fulfill a promise he made with a childhood friend.
