Friday Sundae has released an expanded demo for There Are No Ghosts at the Grand as part of Steam Next Fest, offering three missions from the game’s first chapter ahead of its Early Access launch this December.
Described as a musical Lovecraftian renovation game, There Are No Ghosts at the Grand combines first-person renovation, exploration, puzzles and supernatural mystery with original songs and ghost-hunting power tools.
The new demo includes three Chapter 1 missions, taking players from an autumn clean-up at a retro seaside arcade to renovation work and disputes in the botanical gardens. Players can renovate and powerwash locations, solve puzzles, explore the village and meet its eccentric residents as the story gradually shifts towards its supernatural elements.
Chapter 1 will launch in Early Access on PC via Steam and Xbox PC this December, featuring 15 story missions and more than eight hours of gameplay. Each mission is structured as an individual episode within a larger mystery, with many ending on cliffhangers. Chapters 2 and 3 are planned to follow in 2027.
Originally announced during the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, There Are No Ghosts at the Grand has since appeared at Gamescom Opening Night Live and reached 185,000 Steam wishlists. The game has also won the Tribeca Games Award and ChinaJoy’s Music Award, alongside receiving two gamescom award nominations.
