Dark Fantasy Roguelite ‘Beatrix’ Brings Updated Demo to Steam Next Fest

Indie developer and publisher Tambù Digital has released an updated demo for Beatrix, its dark fantasy roguelite board-builder, as part of Steam Next Fest from October 19 to 26. The new demo introduces an improved tutorial and onboarding experience alongside updates to battles, progression, performance, audio and the game’s interface.

The game combines card-based combat with battlefield building, requiring players to manage both their deck and the positioning of cards across a grid.Rather than relying solely on deckbuilding, Beatrix allows players to construct and manipulate the battlefield itself.

Enemy cards can be converted to the player’s side by surrounding them on the grid, making positioning an important part of each encounter. Players can also use powerful battlefield effects known as Canons, which alter the rules of play and create opportunities for different combinations and strategies.

Set within a dark, stylised interpretation of Dante’s Hell, the game is designed around challenging strategic encounters where understanding the interactions between cards, positioning and battlefield effects is essential to progressing through each run.

The updated Beatrix demo is available for free on Steam during Steam Next Fest from October 19 to 26. Players can also wishlist the game to receive future development updates.
