Publisher Dotemu and developer Homo Ludens have unveiled Dungeons & Dragons: Long Rest Tavern, a management simulation that puts players behind the counter of their own tavern in the world of Dungeons & Dragons.
Set in the wild and fertile continent of Faerûn, the game offers a different perspective on the fantasy universe. Instead of venturing into dangerous dungeons, players take on the role of a tavern keeper, providing food, drinks and a place to rest for adventurers preparing for their next quests.
Players will build their tavern from a modest resting spot into a popular destination for heroes from across the region. Adventurers with different races, classes, personalities and abilities will visit the establishment, creating a constantly changing mix of customers. Players can also assign quests to heroes based on their party composition, with their decisions influencing how those adventures unfold.
Beyond managing customers, players will need to develop their own menu by cooking, brewing and experimenting with exotic ingredients. As the tavern grows, new recipes and dishes can be unlocked to cater to the varied tastes of its clientele. Players will need to keep their shelves stocked, respond to waves of hungry and thirsty adventurers, and invest their earnings into expanding and improving the tavern.
Customization options will allow players to shape the establishment according to their preferences, from its layout and decorations to memorabilia celebrating those who helped the business grow.
Dungeons & Dragons: Long Rest Tavern is scheduled to launch on PC in 2027.
