The holy war is over, Immortal John is dying, and the fun is just beginning. Developer Joe Richardson, alongside publishers Akupara Games and Soft Source, has officially launched the facetiously foolish Renaissance adventure The Immortal John Triptych on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5 consoles.
The award-winning compilation brings together three critically acclaimed adventures crafted entirely from Renaissance paintings, offering players a gloriously silly yet deeply intelligent experience that has already won over both critics and fans alike.
A Decade of Painting, Pixels, and Perseverance
In characteristically irreverent fashion, creator Joe Richardson reflected on the journey to console release.”I spent ten long years cutting up these fucking paintings. My fingers are whittled to nubs, my eye balls shriveled to dusty pucks, my rapidly shrinking brain rattles loose inside my age-yellowed skull. But we’re doing Switch 2 physicals so I guess I can chalk it up as a win.”
The console launch marks a significant milestone for the independent creator, with physical releases adding a tangible dimension to the digital absurdity.

About The Immortal John Triptych
The collection comprises three Pythonesque adventures born from Renaissance paintings and reckless ambition. Players can pilfer from pirates, conspire with cardinals and face the Four Last Things, all while exploring luscious landscapes and preposterous portraits in this gloriously silly, deeply intelligent trilogy that has earned critical acclaim across all three titles.
