Paramount+ has unveiled new details for Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender, an upcoming animated feature set in the beloved Avatar Universe. The film will premiere globally on July 25, 2026, exclusively on Paramount+,.
Set years after the events of the original animated series, the film follows Avatar Aang, now an adult, as he uncovers the existence of an ancient power capable of saving Air Nomad culture from extinction. Joined by his friends, Aang embarks on a globe-spanning quest to secure the mysterious force before it falls into dangerous hands.
Star-Studded Voice Cast
The film features an impressive ensemble cast led by:
- Eric Nam as Aang
- Dave Bautista as Tagah
- Jessica Matten as Katara
- Román Zaragoza as Sokka
- Steven Yeun as Zuko
- Dionne Quan as Toph
Additional voice talent includes Freida Pinto, Ke Huy Quan, Taika Waititi, Geraldine Viswanathan, Ronny Chieng, and Ken Jeong. Fan-favorite voice actor Dee Bradley Baker also returns to reprise his roles as Aang’s loyal animal companions, Appa and Momo.
Creative Team
The film is directed by Lauren Montgomery, with Steve Ahn and William Mata serving as co-directors. Original Avatar: The Last Airbender creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino return as producers and story creators alongside Latifa Ouaou and Maryann Garger.
The screenplay is written by Tim Hedrick and Christopher Yost, based on a story developed by Konietzko, DiMartino, Hedrick, and Kenneth Lin.
San Diego Comic-Con Celebration
Ahead of its streaming debut, Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender will receive a major showcase at San Diego Comic-Con 2026.
Fans attending the convention can experience a themed “Cabbage Cart Madness” arcade game at the Paramount+ booth, attend a Hall H panel featuring the cast and creative team on July 23, and watch an exclusive fan screening of the film on July 24, one day before its worldwide release.
