Singapore-based Confiction Labs have released a new teaser trailer for RIFTSTORM, the studio’s upcoming co-op PvE action game set in the Mythic Protocol universe. The teaser, titled “The Unknown Is Coming,” arrives as the team prepares for RIFTSTORM’s planned Steam Early Access launch on August 11, 2026.
RIFTSTORM drew strong player interest during Steam Next Fest June 2025, placing in the Top 50 Most Played games by the end of the event.
On the game’s “extraction-lite” focus, Confiction Labs CCO Igor Tanzil shared,“We spent the last year exploring what we see as very real appetite for a PvE and co-op focused extraction experience. Extraction games create incredible tension, but so much of the genre has become associated with hardcore punishment and PvP pressure.”
“With RIFTSTORM, we wanted to keep the part that feels exciting while reducing the friction of loss. Our core philosophy of empowerment over punishment meant that our “extraction-lite” features are designed to give RIFTSTORM players more ways to explore our combat systems.”
What is RIFTSTORM?
In RIFTSTORM, players control Weavers, elite operatives of the Mythic Protocol deployed to investigate containment breaches and riftfall events, fight Mythic threats, recover weapons and resources, and extract before the mission goes awry.
The game combines fast co-op combat, powerful weapons, in-mission Lythogram power-ups, and a unique “extraction-lite” risk-versus-reward systems built around a sustained power fantasy rather than extreme punishment.
When Is RIFTSTORM Releasing?
No full release date has been confirmed for RIFTSTORM, but the game will enter Steam Early Access on August 11, 2026. At the start of Early Access, RIFTSTORM is planned to launch with:
- Five playable Weavers
- Online three-player co-op
- An onboarding campaign
- Curated early Threat missions
- Around 30 weapons
- Several dozen Lythogram power-ups
- Early versions of its progression and Periapt Augment systems
