‘Wiseman: No More Breakups’ Turns Relationship Drama Into A Boss Rush

Solo developer Gilang Gumelar Studios has released their first Steam demo for Wiseman: No More Breakups, an upcoming boss rush game about surviving relationship drama inside a moving train. The demo is available now for Windows and macOS.

In Wiseman: No More Breakups, players take the role of August Wiseman, a boy who just wants his phone back. After his girlfriend takes it from him, August is forced to fight his way through a train filled with people from her life — her best friend, her family, her exes, her pet,and other strange figures standing between him and her.

Every boss is more than a fight — each encounter is part of the strange relationship drama unfolding across the train.

Unlike traditional rhythm games about dancing or scoring points, Wiseman: No More Breakups uses rhythm-based inputs as combat. Players hit timed four-button inputs to attack, survive, and push through each boss encounter. The result is a compact, high-pressure boss rush built around focus, timing, and emotional chaos.

The newly released Steam demo includes:

  • Three playable boss fights
  • Three difficulty modes: Toddler, Teenager, and Wiseman
  • Rhythm-based combat where timed inputs become attacks
  • Stylish anime-inspired UI and comic-book presentation
  • Absurd relationship comedy set inside a moving train
  • Jazz fusion music supporting the game’s strange and dramatic tone
  • Available on Windows and macOS

The demo gives players a first look at Wiseman’s core loop: choose a boss, survive the fight, learn the mechanics, and uncover more of August and Megatron’s chaotic relationship through each encounter.

“I wanted Wiseman to feel like a breakup argument turned into a boss rush,” said Gilang Gumelar, solo developer at Gilang Gumelar Studios. “The game is funny and absurd, but every boss also reveals something about the relationship, the people around it, and August’s refusal to admit he actually cares.”

Wiseman: No More Breakups is currently in development for PC and macOS via Steam. The full game is planned as a short, replayable boss rush experience with stylish presentation, rhythm-based combat, and a story that mixes relationship drama with over-the-top comedy.

Wishlist the game now on Steam.
