This year’s summer of games is blazing hot so far, and Summer Game Fest turned up the heat even further with an overwhelming number of world premieres, announcements, and surprise drops for games coming out this year and beyond.

CAPCOM teases Resident Evil: Veronica for 2027
Resident Evil Veronica, a remake of the beloved classic Resident Evil Code: Veronica, was announced for release in 2027 at Summer Game Fest. The next chapter in the iconic Resident Evil survival horror series features the return of fan-favorite heroine Claire Redfield and will release across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
Studio MDHR announces Mighty Cuphead Adventure and secret new project
Studio MDHR confirmed development on a brand-new, hand-animated Cuphead video game that will take their beloved characters on a fresh, exciting adventure. While the ambitious project is still in its earliest stages of development, fans can look forward to another secret project from a small team within Studio MDHR: an 8-bit action platformer named Mighty Cuphead Adventure. No release window has been announced yet.
Creative Assembly reveals Alien Isolation 2 after 12 years
Twelve years after the release of the first Alien: Isolation game, Creative Assembly reveals that they’re currently working on Alien: Isolation 2. In the game, a survey team on a remote colony-planet discovers a mysterious crashed vessel. No one is prepared for the horror unwittingly unleashed on the settlement. Nowhere is safe. So begins a desperate journey to survive and escape, as you are relentlessly hunted by the deadly creature. No release window has been announced yet.
Shadow of the Colossus developer reveals first project in a decade, gen ATLAS
The latest creation from Fumito Ueda, creator of ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, and The Last Guardian was announced at Summer Game Fest 2026. gen ATLAS is a single-player, open-world action-adventure game where you awaken on an abandoned planet. As you journey deeper into this strange world, a colossal robot awaits. Its overwhelming power opens paths to places once beyond reach, transforming your conception of the world. No release window has been revealed yet.
Tupac joins the Stranger Than Heaven cast on January 15
SEGA of America and RGG Studio unveiled new cast additions for their highly anticipated upcoming action-adventure game, Stranger Than Heaven, including iconic rapper and actor Tupac. Tupac’s portrayal of the character Amaru in Stranger Than Heaven is made possible with the permission and ongoing supervision of his estate, Amaru Entertainment.
Bandai Namco announces Gundam Rogue Orbit, Launching 2027
Bandai Namco just revealed the fast-paced, high-mobility action game Gundam Rogue Orbit. The cinematic title introduces a brand-new timeline in the Gundam saga, where humanity must fight for survival against an unknown threat. The story is a bold new chapter in the Gundam franchise, as a thrilling evolution for longtime fans and a perfect entry point for newcomers into this epic sci-fi series.
That’s No Moon announces its debut game, Crossfire
Crossfire is an upcoming third-person shooter developed by That’s No Moon and published by Smilegate. As a single-player-only video game set in the Crossfire universe, it is set to be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The story follows two opposing mercenaries Layla Qassem (Claudia Doumit) and Delroy Cross (Ricky Whittle), who must reluctantly work together to fight against a lethal threat.
Virtua Fighter Crossroads previews an action-packed cinematic story mode
Virtua Fighter Crossroads revealed a brand-new trailer during Summer Game Fest, featuring new fighter Cielo and a taste of the cinematic narrative and intense action that will define RGG Studio’s foray into this unconventional new approach to the fighting game genre. A dedicated Virtua Fighter Crossroads showcase also premiered, including more details on the new battle system and the prominent writing talent involved in this project.
Panache Digital Games premieres first trailer for 1666: Amsterdam
From the developers of Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey comes a brand-new third-person, dark action-adventure set in Amsterdam, 1666. You play as Noa Brooklyn the Collector, who wields witchcraft to uncover demonic entitites hiding behind human faces. But Noa is not alone. Aaron, summoned from 1999, now sees the world through the eyes of a cat. Switch between Noa and Aaron across two radically different playstyles.
Innersloth reveals Among Us Story: On Guard and animated series trailer
Among Us Story: On Guard is a dangerous detective narrative adventure through space, set in the Among Us universe. When a murder happens onboard, you have to prove your innocence before the Impostor gets to the rest of the crew… and you. Not only that, Among Us also premiered the trailer for their animated series which is streaming now on Paramount+ and you can watch the full first episode on Youtube.
Sonic Racing Crossworlds reveals 35th anniversary crossovers
Sonic is celebrating his 35th birthday in style, starting with Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds collaborations with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Avatar The Last Airbender in Summer/Fall 2026, and Godzilla and Neon Genesis Evangelion arriving in Season Pass Two. In addition, SEGA revealed a teaser for the upcoming Sonic PICO PARK collaboration game, launching later this year.
Palworld launches into Version 1.0 this July 10
After its early access launch in 2024, Palworld is finally releasing Version 1.0 on July 10, 2026. Pocketpair revealed their first ever cinematic trailer during Summer Game Fest, featuring new Pals, new areas, an ominous new threat, and the long-awaited World Tree.
The Wolf Among Us 2 returns after rumoured cancellation, launching 2027
After the longest eight years of my life, The Wolf Among Us 2 returns players to Fabletown in a dark neon-noir thriller that expands the acclaimed series in bold and ambitious new ways. Return to the role of Bigby Wolf, sheriff of Fabletown, as a deadly conspiracy tears apart the precarious peace among the exiled Fables. The Wolf Among Us is also getting a remaster coming later this year.
Shift Up reveals first trailer for sequel game, Stellar Blade: Blood Rain
Stellar Blade: BLOOD RAIN is the next chapter in the acclaimed action-adventure franchise from SHIFT UP. BLOOD RAIN will continue the story beyond the events of the first game and introduce a new protagonist, Evie. This game reveal comes two years after the release of Stellar Blade in 2024, and no release window has been announced yet.
Final Fantasy VII Revelations concludes the trilogy in Spring 2027
The final chapter of the Final Fantasy VII remake project is finally dropping this Spring 2027. The English voice of Vincent Valentine, Matt Mercer, took to the Summer Game Fest stage to share a closer look at the gameplay and massive scale of this highly anticipated final chapter, including the ability to take to the skies and explore a truly boundless world.
