Capcom has finally announced a new massive expansion update today for Monster Hunter Wilds during the Summer Game Fest 2026. The announcement was then accompanied by a debut trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, which is scheduled for release in 2027.
The reveal delivered a first look at the content-rich expansion, showcasing new and returning monsters, refined gameplay mechanics, a new high-altitude locale, and more.
Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance advances the story of the Forbidden Lands as the Expedition Team’s adventure soars to a new locale set amongst the clouds. In the expansion, hunters will explore islands in the sky and wield explosive new abilities that evolve the gameplay and take the hunting action to new heights. The challenge will also rise to a whole new level with the return of Elder Dragons and Master Rank content.
Not only that, improved support elements available while in the field and in quests will make exploration more accessible to the player. This includes enhanced gameplay for Seikret with the addition of a glide dash and improved response time when called.
An all-new Boost Bracer feature will also become available across all weapon types. Unleash enhanced attack, improvement in mobility, and seamless combat coordination as hunting action continues to evolve further. What’s even greater? New attacks and combo routes have been added to the core controls, giving hunters more ways to master their weapons and dominate the battlefield.
Of course, new monsters also await Hunters in the Eastlands. New threats arise with the emergence of Elder Dragons. Their presence alone is enough to bring about catastrophic destruction.
Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance is currently in development, aiming for a 2027 release.
