This May 17th, the latest edition of Indie Jam Sessions will shine a light on the often-overlooked role of lighting in games. Indie Jam Sessions a monthly game development workshop and playtesting series presented by THE MAGIC RAIN and Make With Friends, and a spin-off event from Indie Jam.

This month’s workshop will be presented by Farah Azhar, a lighting artist who started her career in cinematic lighting across various AAA game projects before transitioning into game development. She is currently working on an original AA IP at Albrite Studios.

In her talk, “Why Good Lighting Goes Unnoticed”, Farah will explore how subtle lighting influences gameplay, sets mood, and enhances storytelling without ever drawing attention to itself.
