Netflix Announces 2027 Release Date For Live-Action One Piece Season 3

Following the success of Season 2 of the live-action One Piece remake, Netflix has announced new additions to the One Piece franchise, starting with the reveal of the live-action Season 3.

Titled One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta, Season 3 will see the Straw Hat crew travelling to the desert kingdom of Alabasta, the homeland of Princess Vivi, while a rebellion orchestrated by Sir Crocodile and his underground syndicate Baroque Works lurks in the shadows. Season 3 is set for a 2027 release.

Netflix also surprised fans with LEGO One Piece, an upcoming two-part animated special from LEGO Group, Shueisha and Atomic. The special will be told from the perspective of Usopp as he recaps the events of Season 1 and 2 to Tony Tony Chopper, who just joined the crew in Season 2.

LEGO One Piece is slated for a September 29 release. Tom Hyndman, the writer for the live-action One Piece remake, will serve as showrunner, writer, and executive producer.

And just in case you’re still craving for more retellings of the East Blue arc, Netflix also gave fans a closer look at The One Piece, a new anime adaptation helmed by WIT Studio. Separate from the long-running One Piece anime that has been running for 25 years, The One Piece aims to refresh the series with modern techniques, while still keeping its nostalgic core.

The One Piece franchise is adapted from a manga series of the same name by Eiichiro Oda, which has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump for over 28 years. The series, which is currently in its final arc, has surpassed 600 million copies in circulation worldwide.
