Marvel Rivals is cooking up a feast with its recent announcements for 2026! With the upcoming Path to Doomsday event, the game will have a variety of new cosmetics, maps, gamemode and heroes to play with beginning this April.
This is in anticipation of the much-awaited film Avengers: Doomsday, which is set to release on 18 December, 2026. The in-game Doomsday event will officially connect the Marvel Rivals universe to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

New Limited Time Gamemode

One of the biggest revelations at the Marvel Rivals World Event was the new gamemode. Having tried out PVE with the Marvel Zombies gamemode, the Devs are now gonna dabble in an assymetrical gamemode.
The event features 1 player as Loki going against 6 other players, much like in The Avengers. Equipped with new powers, tricks, and Infinity Stone(s) abilities, the God of Mischief will turn friends against each other!
While we don’t know the full details of the gamemode yet, we do know we’ll have a tactical nuke to shift the tides of battle! Under the right conditions, you can summon Hulk to SMASH Loki in a recreation of the iconic scene from The Avengers!
Potential New Heroes
The Marvel Rivals Official X account also teased the coming of a “master thief” and a “secret agent” heading our way. Some fans have speculated that Black Cat and White Fox are the teased heroes, based on in-game art from the battlepass. (Personally wouldn’t mind Devil Dinosaur, though.)
But if we’re going off the movies, our guess is the “master thief” is Scott Lang a.k.a. Ant-Man. As for the the “secret agent“? Who other than Nick Fury! But bear in mind that these are all speculations that have yet to be confirmed.

However, we still don’t know who the potential big bad of Season 7 will be. Based on the event, potential candidates are Thanos or Dr Doom, who are the first overarching antagonist and the upcoming antagonist respectively. Our guess is it would be Thanos, as the roadmap is set to conclude in December, which is in line for Avengers: Doomsday.
Saving The Multiverse In Style
Finally, we don’t know much of who’s getting a skin in Season 7, or what the skins could be based on. However, we can assume that the skins will be MCU designs, or at least inspired by them. So, we’ll just have to stay tuned for more news!
