One Piece Celebrates 600 Million Copies With Special Commemorative Project

Volume 114 of One Piece, the blockbuster pirate adventure by Eiichiro Oda, was released on March 4, as the series officially surpassed 600 million copies in circulation worldwide. To mark the milestone, the franchise launched a special commemorative project centered around revealing the “truth” behind One Piece.

A newly released project video on the franchise’s official YouTube channel shows Oda writing a secret on a single sheet of paper. The page is torn across the top and bottom, leaving visible only the phrases: “What is the One Piece?” and “Monkey D. Luffy is —”.

According to an official announcement, the lower half of the page, containing the full “truth”, will be sealed inside a treasure chest and symbolically sunk to the bottom of the sea. Its contents will only be revealed after the manga concludes.

The franchise has also launched its second global character popularity poll, “WT100 (World Top 100),” which features over 1,500 eligible characters for fans to choose from. Voting is available through the official WT100 website, the One Piece Base app, or by post with designated voting tickets. The poll results will be unveiled at the One Piece Day ’26 fan event, scheduled to take place in August.

Fans eager to check out more One Piece content can read the latest chapters for free on the official MangaPlus website, and look forward to the second season of the live-action adaptation of One Piece, releasing this April.
