The fourth season of Ascendance of a Bookworm, subtitled Adopted Daughter of an Archduke, has been confirmed to begin airing this April 4. Animation for this season will be produced by WIT Studio, taking over from Ajia-do Animation Works, who produced the first three seasons.
The announcement was accompanied by a teaser trailer for the upcoming season, which features a portion of its new opening theme, “Pages” by Little Glee Monster.
Ascendance of a Bookworm is an adaptation of a light novel series by author Miya Kazuki. It follows a college student who dies before achieving her dream of becoming a librarian, only to find herself reincarnated in a fantasy world as Main, a poor soldier’s daughter.
To her surprise, books in this world are luxuries reserved only for the noble class. Refusing to give up, Main sets out to create her own books, using the knowledge she gained from her previous life.
