The Bocchi the Rock! manga series is set to go on hiatus starting this March 18, stated to be due to ongoing health issues suffered by creator Aki Hamaji. No specific date has been announced for the manga’s resumption, but fans are encouraged to follow the series’ official channels for updates.
According to Manga Time Kirara, the magazine where Bocchi the Rock! is published, the series was initially scheduled to resume after a one-issue break. However, following discussions between the author and the magazine’s editorial department, both parties concluded that an extended hiatus would better allow Hamaji to fully recover from her health issues.
Bocchi the Rock! is a manga series that follows Hitori Gotoh, a socially anxious girl who dreams of becoming a rock musician despite her extreme shyness. Everything changes when she is recruited by another girl, Nijika Ijichi, to join her band Kessoku Band, alongside her new friends Ryo Yamada and Ikuyo Kita.
The series was adapted into an anime that ran from October to December 2022, with a second season currently in the works.
