Following its reveal at The Game Awards, Pan Studio has confirmed that the massive ‘Huaxu: The Wind Awakening’ update for Duet Night Abyss will launch globally on December 23. The update arrives alongside the game’s official release on Steam.
Six highly anticipated characters will join the roster in this update, including the chivalrous swordsman Kezhou. Leading the charge is Fushu, a healer from the Hall of Ephemerality who uses a traditional folding fan to dispense powerful recovery magic and team buffs. Players can unlock Fushu via the Immersive Theatre gameplay event, alongside her “Tidal Repose” outfit.
Gameplay has been significantly expanded with co-op multiplayer being unlocked across all regions. Players can now team up as they explore the open world, taking on Nocturnal Echoes boss fights and completing commissions together. A new ranking system, “The Phoxhunter Summit,” will also debut, offering competitive players new challenges and rewards.
As well as new gameplay and characters, the update introduces a bold artistic shift, transporting players to the Huaxu region. This expansion transitions from Western fantasy to a realistic Eastern aesthetic, featuring a stunning visual overhaul with refined lighting, enhanced textures, and immersive environmental design. The trailer, titled Huaxu: The Wind Awakening, showcased this new direction alongside the upcoming narrative content.
To celebrate the update, players can claim a free “Serenity Character Skin Selection – Dark Jade” box and earn 10 Prismatic Hourglasses through a seven-day login event. Plus, players can redeem the following codes revealed during the livestream for exclusive rewards (valid until December 24):
- HUAXUAWAITS

Duet Night Abyss is free to play on PC and mobile, and will be available on Steam starting December 23.
