Capcom revealed new details for its highly anticipated Monster Hunter Wilds x Final Fantasy XIV Online crossover event, available in a Free Title Update launching on Monday, 29th September 2025.
The announcement was made during the Monster Hunter Wilds segment of Capcom’s Online Program, where viewers got their first glimpse of some exciting new content coming to the game.
Introducing Omega Planetes
Having descended into the Forbidden Lands, the Omega Frame now bears a new name: “Omega Planetes”. Players Hunter Rank 41 or above can unlock a special extra mission featuring this fearsome enemy by completing the main mission “What Lies Ahead”, and talking to Rove in the Iceshard Cliffs.
Omega Planetes prepares its devastating attack, Delta Attack, by summoning Nerscylla Clones. Additionally, the Omega Micros generated by Omega Planetes relentlessly approach their target and detonate on impact, dealing explosive damage. When it enters Pantokrator Mode, it becomes nearly unstoppable, requiring players to team up with other hunters and coordinate strategies.
Once defeated, players can also ollect materials from Omega Planetes to craft special hunter armor, Palico equipment, and Seikret decorations.
The Dark Knight & Pictomancer
The Dark Knight, master of the great sword and wielder of devastating dark arts, and the Pictomancer, who brings painted creations to life to strike enemies, are making their debut in the world of Monster Hunter Wilds!
Equipping the Bale Armor α set will grant players the set bonus skill, “Soul of the Dark Knight.” Activating this skill allows you to use the special action, “The Blackest Night”, which can be activated from the item bar. Doing so will consume the player’s health to generate a powerful barrier. The great sword “Shadowbringer” also comes with an exclusive weapon skill, adding even more power to your arsenal.
On the other hand, by using the “Soul of the Pictomancer,” you can cast pictomancy spells such as “Pom Motif.” Combine the drawn motifs to unleash a powerful pictomancy spell known as “Mog of Ages.” Pictomancy spells are highly effective against monsters from Final Fantasy XIV Online, dealing significant damage and being more likely to inflict wounds.
