Yuto Suzuki’s popular manga series Sakamoto Days is officially getting the live-action film treatment. The news was first was announced in Issue 43 of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, with Toho later confirming that the film will be released during Japan’s 2026 Golden Week celebrations (roughly April 29 to May 6).
Sakamoto Days follows a retired assassin named Taro Sakamoto, who now lives quietly while running a neighbourhood store with his wife and child. However, his peaceful life is shattered when his old enemies resurface, forcing him to take up his assassin skills once more.
The manga has been serialised in Weekly Shonen Jump since November 21, 2020, and has been adapted into an anime from TMS Entertainment. A spin-off manga named Sakamoto Holidays was published in Shueisha’s Saikyo Jump magazine in 2024.
