The new Ghost in the Shell television anime from Science SARU has officially revealed its Japanese voice cast, following the series’ broadcast premiere on Tuesday. Leading the cast are:
- Maaya Sakamoto as the iconic protagonist Motoko Kusanagi
- Kazuhiro Yamaji as Daisuke Aramaki
- Hiroki Yasumoto as Batou
- Yūichi Nakamura as Togusa
- Kōsuke Gotō as Ishikawa
- Tōru Nara as Saito
- Marie Ōi as Operator
- Tomoko Kaneda as Fuchikoma
- Chafūrin as the Minister of Home Affairs
- Naomi Kusumi as the Volgarena Representative
- Hiroshi Yanaka as Vice Minister Ito
- Tomoko Miyadera as the Union Leader
The anime is directed by Mokochan, making their directorial debut after contributing as a storyboard artist and key animator on series such as DAN DA DAN, The Heike Story, and Tatami Time Machine Blues.
The screenplay and series composition are handled by Toh Enjoe, while Shūhei Handa serves as both character designer and chief animation director. Music is led by Taisei Iwasaki, alongside composers Ryō Konishi and Yuki Kanesaka.
Produced by Science SARU with Bandai Namco Filmworks, Kodansha, and Production I.G serving on the production committee, the anime premiered on July 7 during the new “Ka-Anival!!” anime programming block on Kansai TV and Fuji TV.
International audiences can stream the series exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories, with the exception of mainland China, Russia, and Vietnam.
