Pokémon recently unveiled a slew of activities happening in Malaysia for its 30th anniversary, with various celebrations, releases, and even a pop-up store for fans to look forward to. This is the first of many pieces that cover each Pokémon 30th anniversary celebration event in greater detail, starting with PokéXciting!.
PokéXciting! will be a large-scale party-style celebration across five cities in Asia. The Kuala Lumpur edition will take place on 12-13 September at KLCC park. The highlight of the event will be a Pokémon drone show – the first of its kind in Malaysia.
Pokémon drone shows have been done in the past, such as during the Pokémon World Championships 2023 held in Yokohama, Japan, and in Jakarta during Pikachu’s Indonesia Journey 2024. However, this event is the first of its kind in Malaysia, and the drone show is not everything this event will be offering! We can also expect a vibrant lineup of entertainment including a special appearance by PokéXciting! Pikachu.
PokéXciting! Pikachu will feature a different colored costume unique to each city. In Kuala Lumpur, PokéXciting! Pikachu will be debuting in a vibrant Turqoise color! (Personally, I find this Pikachu extremely cute!) We can also expect PokéXciting! Pikachu to appear in Pokémon GO, giving players an opportunity to catch this unique one of a kind Pikachu in-game.
The best part about all this? The entire event will be FREE! Be sure to mark your calendars for 12-13th of September 2026, happening at KLCC Park.
