muque is a three-piece band from Fukuoka, Japan, formed in May 2022. The group consists of Asakura (vocals and guitar), Kenichi (guitar), and takachi (trackmaker and drums). The group crafts a unique sonic identity by blending contemporary global influences with poetic lyricism and distinctly Japanese melodic sensibilities.
The band name “muque” is derived from the French word musique (music) and the Japanese word “無垢” (muku), meaning purity. It reflects their desire to create music authentically, staying true to their artistic vision without being influenced by external pressures.
