HoYoverse has announced that Version 4.1 of Honkai: Star Rail, titled “Unraveled for Daybreak,” will launch on March 25, bringing new story content, characters, and gameplay features.
The update continues the storyline on Planarcadia, where the Astral Express Crew is invited to attend Star Rail FEST, a large fan-style festival celebrating their past interstellar adventures. While the event promises festivities and nostalgic attractions, the celebration is overshadowed by hidden conspiracies and growing tensions linked to the ongoing Phantasmoon Games and the looming War of the Supplicants.
Star Rail FEST and New Exploration Areas
Star Rail FEST will serve as a major in-game event featuring three themed open zones inspired by earlier locations in the game’s story: Belobog, Xianzhou Luofu, and Penacony. Players will be able to revisit iconic moments from their journey, including recreations of key battles and encounters.
A new exploration area, Pearluxe Tower, headquarters of the Planarcadia-based company Pearluxe Corp, will also open during the update. The location will feature interactive activities, displays, and themed attractions tied to the festival.
New Playable Character: Ashveil
Version 4.1 introduces Ashveil, a previously introduced character now making his playable debut. Despite his typically laid-back demeanor, Ashveil plays a central role in investigating a murder case in Planarcadia’s Dovebrook District while uncovering deeper conspiracies surrounding the festival.
Ashveil is a 5-star Lightning-type character following The Hunt combat path. His abilities focus on marking a target as “Bait,” lowering enemy defenses and triggering follow-up attacks whenever teammates strike that marked opponent.
New Game Mode and Activities
The update also adds a new strategy-focused activity called Wispae War Saga, set in Graphia Academy. Players command units of wispae soldiers, upgrade them, and use special spell cards and capsules to defeat challengers and unlock additional companions.
Additional features include:
- 10 free Warp pulls for players who log in after the update
- A new phase for Divergent Universe: Arcadian Chronicles, introducing new exploration choices and the upgradeable Mask of Elation system
- Limited-time double-reward events Planar Fissure and Garden of Plenty, offering increased materials and equipment rewards
