Square Enix and developer NHN PlayArt have officially announced that Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy will launch for iOS and Android devices in March 2026. Pre-registration for the three-versus-three arena combat title is now open on the App Store and Google Play.
This new entry in the Dissidia franchise offers a unique narrative departure, placing iconic Final Fantasy protagonists in modern-day Tokyo, Japan. Players will follow legendary warriors as they interact through chat messenger episodes, navigate everyday life, and battle to save the world from destruction.
Fast-Paced Team Combat
Dissidia Duellum redefines the series’ traditional combat with a competitive “race” format:
- Three-versus-Three Boss Battles: Two teams of three players compete simultaneously to defeat powerful monsters and bosses.
- The Goal: The team that eliminates the enemies the fastest wins the match.
- Character Roles: Players can choose from legendary heroes like the Warrior of Light, Cloud, and Lightning, categorized into roles such as Melee, Ranged, Agile, or Support.
- Progression: By winning battles, players can train their characters and equip new abilities to increase their strength.
Customization and Community
The title is built for mobile accessibility, featuring easy-to-learn, customizable control schemes. In addition to combat, the game offers deep customization and social features:
- Visuals: Character designs are led by Miki Yamashita (Kingdom Hearts III, NEO: The World Ends with You). Players can outfit characters in their original attire or new modern-day clothing.
- Collectibles: Players can acquire new abilities featuring fresh illustrations and collect both original and rearranged music tracks from across the Final Fantasy series.
- Social Hub: The game includes a profile editor, player chat, and a community hub to connect fans.
Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy will be free-to-play with microtransactions that interact with various gameplay elements. More information is available on the official website.
