Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina is getting a new anime film, marking the series’ first new animated project in five years. The news was first announced at GA Fes 2026, a 6-hour talk show that showcased updates from publisher GA Bunko.
Series creator Jogi Shiraishi commented, “I am truly happy that the film adaptation, which has been steadily moving forward behind the scenes with many people involved, can finally be delivered to everyone in this way. (…) As both the author and one of the fans of the Wandering Witch anime, I am very much looking forward to it.”
Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina is based on a 2014 novel of the same name, which follows Elaina, a witch who encounters various people and cultures as she travels across the land. The novel was later adapted into an anime series that ran from October to December 2020.
Additional details such as the film’s official title, synopsis and release date were not revealed during the event. More updates will be made via the official Wandering Witch social channels.
