Toho Animation has officially confirmed that a brand-new Godzilla anime series is currently in production. The announcement took place during Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2025, where the studio also revealed an intriguing piece of concept art for the upcoming work.
For the first time in the franchise’s storied 70-year history, the anime’s protagonist will be a boy who possesses the power of Godzilla. The official Godzilla X account further fueled speculation with a cryptic post, teasing fans by asking: “Is that boy human, or Godzilla?”
To bring this ambitious project to life, TOHO animation is collaborating with two highly regarded animation houses. Leading the production is Orange, a studio best known for their stunning 3D animation work on series such as Beastars and Trigun Stampede.They are joined by the Thai-based IGLOO STUDIO, recognized for their recent work on My Daemon.
At this time, the official title and further details, including the release window and core staff, are being kept under wraps. The studios have promised to reveal more information about the project at a later date.
