The 11th edition of The Game Awards had plenty of big announcements in store this morning. From the announcement of a brand-new Divinity game from Larian Studios, to the reveal of Leon Kennedy as a playable protagonist in Resident Evil Requiem.
Here are the biggest announcements you don’t want to miss.
1. Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic Announced; Casey Hudson Returns to Direct
Developed by Arcanaut Studios in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games, Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic is a new single-player narrative-driven action RPG. Casey Hudson, game director of the original Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic and the Mass Effect trilogy, will return to direct the game. No release window has been announced.
2. Larian Studios Announces New Divinity Game
The mysterious statue in the desert finally has an owner, accompanied by the completed sentences: “The gods are silent. Rivellon bleeds. New powers stir.” Larian Studios revealed their first teaser trailer for Divinity, the sixth installment in the highly popular role-playing franchise, teasing a RPG with greater breadth and depth than ever before.
3. Frictional Games Teases New Sci-Fi Horror Title, ONTOS
From the creators of SOMA comes its spiritual successor, ONTOS. Featuring award-winning actor, Stellan Skarsgård, this sci-fi thriller takes you to the edge of existence. Guided by the fragments of your father’s past, you must confront disturbing revelations about the nature of reality and your place in it. ONTOS comes to Xbox, PS5, and PC in 2026.
4. Leon Kennedy Returns as Playable Character in Resident Evil Requiem
Resident Evil Requiem released their third trailer at The Game Awards, revealing the return of legendary agent Leon S. Kennedy as a playable protagonist. Both Leon Kennedy and Grace Ashcroft’s journeys and unique gameplay styles intertwine into a heart-stopping, emotional experience that will chill you to your core. The game arrives on February 27th, 2026.
5. Remedy Entertainment Reveals First Trailer for CONTROL Resonant
The highly anticipated CONTROL sequel, CONTROL Resonant, showcased its first trailer at The Game Awards. Set in a warped Manhattan on the brink of paranatural annihilation, unleash the extraordinary powers of Dylan Faden as he fights for his humanity and survival against a reality-bending cosmic threat. This thrilling action-adventure RPG arrives in 2026.
6. First Look at the Street Fighter Live-Action Movie
The cast of the Street Fighter live-action movie gathered on stage to reveal a first look at the movie, hitting theatres on October 16th, 2026.
7. Two New Tomb Raider Games Announced, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis & Tomb Raider: Catalyst
The legendary Lara Croft returns with not one but two upcoming game releases. Arriving 2026, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis remasters the 1996 genre-defining game in Unreal Engine 5. Meanwhile in 2027, Tomb Raider: Catalyst is the next all-new entry in the Tomb Raider series.
8. Arknights: Endfield Announces Worldwide Release on January 22, 2026
Gryphline has finally revealed the worldwide release date for their open-world roleplaying game Arknights: Endfield on January 22nd, 2026. The news was announced together with the brand-new theme track, “Give Me Something” performed by One Republic.
9. CAPCOM Reveals New Megaman Mainline Title, Megaman Dual Override
CAPCOM revealed a brand-new entry in the classic action platforming series, titled Megaman Dual Override. Override challenges and blast down legions of robots while springboarding across a new array of futuristic frontiers, coming 2027.
10. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Releases Free Content Update After Winning Game of the Year
As a show of thanks to the fans, Sandfall Interactive just dropped a major content update to the game for free. The largest inclusion is a brand-new level, “Verso’s Drafts”, featuring new environments to explore, battles to fight, and plenty of surprises to discover. Lorien Testard’s musical magic also makes a comeback with new tracks added for the level.
