Nintendo Acquires Bandai Namco Studios Singapore

Nintendo is set to acquire Bandai Namco’s Singapore-based support studio, Bandai Namco Studios Singapore (BNSS), in a friendly takeover that will see the established development house transition into a wholly owned subsidiary named Nintendo Studios Singapore.

The initial phase of the agreement will see Nintendo acquire 80% of BNSS’s shares on April 1, 2026, with the remaining shares to be acquired after the subsidiary’s operations have stabilized. This announcement follows Nintendo’s establishment of Nintendo Singapore on September 30, with the company yet to clarify whether the acquisition of BNSS is directly connected to the new studio.

Bandai Namco Studios Singapore brings a wealth of experience and a portfolio of successful projects to its new parent company. Over the years, the studio has provided support development for a list of beloved Bandai Namco Entertainment titles, including Ace Combat 7, Soul Calibur VI, Tekken 7, Tekken 8, and Taiko no Tatsujin: VR Festival!.

The studio also has a proven track record with Nintendo, having contributed support development to Splatoon 3. BNSS also recently launched an original title, Hirogami, on PlayStation 5, Steam and Epic Games Store.
