Get ready to journey back to the deadly, mysterious island of Shinsenkyō! Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku Season 2 is officially set to premiere on January 11, available via streaming on Crunchyroll, Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, and Lemino.
The second season will include four new characters from the Yamada Asaemon clan: Yamada Asaemon Shugen, Yamada Asaemon Jikka, Yamada Asaemon Kiyomaru, and Yamada Asaemon Isuzu. These new faces will be brought to life by Ryōta Suzuki, Kōji Yusa, Maaya Uchida, and Sayaka Ōhara, respectively.
Studio MAPPA will also return to helm the second season, with Kaori Makita returning as director, Twin Engine, for planning, script by Akira Kindaichi, music composition by Yoshiaki Dewa, character designs by Akitsugu Hisagi, and color key art from Ayako Suenaga. There are also a few crew changes, with Chika Toda to join as the new compositing director of photography, and Junichi Higash as a new art director.
Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku Returns season 1 captivated audiences in April 2023 with its unique and dark storyline. It follows the powerful ninja Gabimaru, who, after being captured for abandoning his trade, is offered a chance at acquittal. The series has also been adapted into a stage play adaptation and a survival role-playing game.
